What is Sensory Integration?
A. - Sensory experiences include touch, movement, body awareness, sight, sound, and the pull of gravity.  The process of the brain organizing and interpreting this information is called sensory integration.  Sensory integration provides a crucial foundation for later, more complex learning and behavior. Q. - I am not sure if my child may have Autism what should I do?
A. - Autism is diagnosed by a medical doctor. Multiple behaviors/symptoms must be present to indicate Autism. These requirments are defined by the DSM-4 used by medical professionals. If you are concerned that your child may be considered on the Autism spectrum you should consult with your family physician or pediatrician to get more information. Our links page may also support better understanding about Autism and Autism spectrum disorders.

Q. - My child has been diagnosed with Autism what should I do?
A. - You can read information on Autism from the many links on our links page.  If you are still in doubt we recommend that you come in for an evaluation.  We have found that with early intervention therapy progresses more rapidly.
